 A very easy journey.

This is the easiest and most comfortable way to get to La Roane. Our local airport Toulouse is only one hour’s drive away from La Roane. There are regular flights to Toulouse from most major UK airports. From Gatwick – Easyjet, www.easyjet.com and BA, www.britishairways.com From Bristol – Easyjet, www.easyjet.com From Birmingham – Flybe, www.flybe.com From Manchester – BMI Baby, www.bmibaby.com From Edinburgh, Leeds and Belfast – Jet2, www.jet2 From Dublin – Aer Lingus, www.aerlingus.com
Ryanair operaties flights from. varions UK airports to a nimber of places within a couple of hours from La Roane but I dont organise a regular taxi service to these airports. www.ryanair.com
The budget airlines bring out their 2010 schedules around December and prices are much cheaper if you book as soon as the schedules come out.
If you are coming from the South East, book on the EasyJet morning flight from Gatwick. If you book early, prices are around £80. It means an early start, but you will arrive at La Roane in time for an early lunch and an afternoon siesta.
I offer an optional £60 (£30 each way) taxi service from Toulouse airport to La Roane. (£45 return for 5-15th June) For more information see below.
(For the course commencing 21st August, I will be offering an extra taxi service from. Rodez airport to meet the Stanstead flight.)
TRY TO GET A FLIGHT THAT ARRIVES IN TOULOUSE BEFORE 5 P.M.

Some people prefer to come by train. You leave early in the morning from St Pancras on the Eurostar, ride the metro across Paris, and take the Toulouse train from Gare d’Austerlitz. Get off 2 stops before Toulouse, at Caussade Tarn-et-Garonne, which is a 15 minute drive from La Roane.
Alternatively, take the TGV from Gare Montparnasse in Paris to Montauban-ville-bourbon and from there, take the connecting train to Caussade. This latter option is usually more expensive and saves very little time.
You can also travel via Lille instead of Paris. At Lille you simply change platforms, thus avoiding the metro journey across Paris. However this option is only available on the outward journey from London.

I offer a transport service from Toulouse airport to La Roane, returning you there at the end of the week for a fixed charge of £30 each way (£45 return for 5-15th June). As you leave the baggage claim area, look out for our friendly taxi driver (normally Derek, see « YOUR HOST ») who will be holding up the La Roane sign. If in doubt, go to ‘Le Terminal’ cafe on the ground floor.
There may be several flights arriving at roughly the same time in which case you may have to wait for the other guests who will be travelling in the same taxi. Again, the rendezvous point will be the cafe on the ground floor.
You will be informed of precise pickup times a few days before departure.
For flights after5.00pm a taxi can be sent to meet you at a cost of 90 euros. This can be shared if there are any other guests arriving at roughly the same time. If you find the Saturday flights are full or are too expensive, another option is to come a day or two earlier. I can book a hotel in Toulouse or elsewhere for you.

The transfer to connect with the early morning flights leaves from. La Roane at 7 a.m. the following Saturday. Those with afternoon or evening flights can either take the early morning taxi and spend the day exploring Toulouse or else take a later transfer, ususally around 1 p.m.

The usual things: suntan cream, a book for the plane (quite a good selection of books in our library), insect repellent (normally very few mosquitos ), a torch for night walks (although we do have several torches ), a fleece or sweatshirt for cooler evenings, an outdoor towel (older towels are available should you forget) and some euros (there is a cash machine in St Antonin, where we will be going on Sunday morning).
