SPRING AWAKENING: An inspiring week of fun and laughter
Spring with all its promise is in the air! This week is about living your life to the full, cherishing each moment and renewing your passion for life.

A mixed bag of activities with special emphasis on singing and yoga. The singing will be mostly informal, with no pressure to perform: “non-singers” are welcome. We will sing a variety of songs from all over the world as well as some old favourites, plus chanting and vocal exercises.

There will be a pre-breakfast exercise routine using sound, movement, chi kung and laughter therapy. Yoga sessions will take place every afternoon before dinner. These will have a special emphasis on breathing, relaxation, chanting and meditation, rather than on physical exertion. There will be plenty of other activities such as dance, massage, theatre games and nature walks. I will on certain occasions ask one or two of my friends to lead or assist in leading a session.

A gentle process of renewal in a loving and supportive environment.

17 - 24 April    Helen Noakes    £450
YOGA WITH HELEN
In this course with Helen, we will work with our awareness of our physical and energetic bodies, thereby taking us so much deeper into our relationship with asana and breath work. Just a little insight into the anatomy of the human body can help us to become our own best teacher. We will be working with partners to help us understand how the power of touch can profoundly deepen our life practice. You will be invited to feel and to change how your body can surrender to the ground, respond to gravity and receive the breath. You will also learn how to bring this teaching into your daily lives by improving your day to day postural habits.

This inspirational and explorative approach to yoga, influenced by Vanda Scaravelli, is a powerful and soft teaching which can really help deepen your own personal practice. During the week we will explore postures in detail, incorporating breathwork, leading to quiet listening to the body and mind, in comfortable sitting meditation. Welcome and enjoy!

HELEN started her yoga journey in Australia, inspired by the teachings of BKS Iyengar. More recently she has been influenced by the work of Vanda Scaravelli and by her training and vast experience of massage. She is based in India in the winter and teaches all over the world in the summer. Her classes are open to all levels and all ages and are packed with lightness and fun.

THE ELEMENTS OF CHANGE : YOGA AND TAI CHI
A unique opportunity to integrate the benefits of Tai Chi and Yoga, under the guidance of two inspired teachers.

The week will be structured around an exploration of each of the 5 Chinese

elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water. The ancient sages of China believed that by balancing all 5 elements, we can reach a state of harmony.

Through the practice of MOVEMENT and STILLNESS, we learn to tune into nature, to fulfill our needs and to explore our potential. The benefits are a still mind, inspiration and maximal health.

There will be daily sessions in Tai Chi (morning) and Yoga (late afternoon). These classes will complement and balance each other. Each day will be made up of the following: exercises( including static postures and flowing sequences), breathing techniques, meditation, mudras, relaxation techniques, chi tapping and massage.

Suitable for all levels of experience and ability.

MARIA has a background in the martial arts and has been practicing and teaching tai chi for some 25 years. She believes strongly that tai chi should be enjoyable so that students leave classes feeling not just energised, but also relaxed and happy. Her approach is tailored to meet the needs of each individual student.

LYNNE has been practicing yoga with great passion and enthusiasm since her early student days in her native Yorkshire. She trained with the British Wheel of Yoga and her eclectic approach has been influenced by her studies at the Sivananda Ashram in India. She now has a very successful teaching practice in the Norfolk area. www.balanceyourenergy.co.uk

LETTING GO AND COMING HOME WITH YOGA
During the course of the week, we will bring an understanding of yoga as a science, a holistic healing art, and a spiritual practice. This is yoga that is adapted to meet individual needs, in the tradition of T.Krishnamacharaya. We will encourage you to set your own goals and work towards them.

We will work with playful warm-up exercises derived from Tai Chi and Qi Gong, classical yoga asanas, moving meditations and deeply restorative Yin Yoga postures to nurture our physical and energetic bodies, moving into profound and healing stillness in guided relaxation and meditation. As blockages are gently released, the potential arises for renewal and coming home to our true selves.

Everyone will receive individual attention and be offered appropriate modifications to help them get the maximum benefit and enjoyment from the practice.

TRISTREM has had a deep and abiding interest in Yoga and Vedanta for over thirty years. He travels frequently to India to pursue his studies. He has studied Jungian and transpersonal psychology. He trained as a yoga teacher with Simon Low's Yoga Academy. His  style is clear, intelligent, accessible, nurturing and great fun.

YVONNE started teaching yoga in 2000. She offers a gentle flowing Hatha yoga, characterized by her understanding of alignment, which has come from her many years of practicing Iyengar yoga and, more recently, Anusara yoga. She also works as a health kinesiologist and a photographer
