GHOST HUNTERS
26 x 26'
Produced for Discovery Europe
This remarkable series of 26 half hour programmes is the most authoritative and wide-ranging investigation into the paranormal ever transmitted on British Television. It was highly praised by the general public and by professional paranormal investigators alike, for its powerful and disturbing real life paranormal stories, the integrity of its psychic investigation, and historical research.
The Series
This is a series about the unexplained. About things that are seen and yet not seen. About events that our common senses tells us cannot occur, and yet they have occurred. Burned into people’s memories, never to be forgotten.
Each programme in the series deals in depth with a different mystery story. These stories involve ordinary people, who had no belief in the paranormal until it forced its way into their lives.
We relive these events with the people who experienced them and then we investigate them. We interview witnesses and local historians, parish priests and paranormal investigators and peer into the very heart of the mystery and to grapple with the uncomfortable questions that arise.
What actually happened? What does it mean for our understanding of the way the world works? What does science have to say about it? There are too many of these strange and disturbing happenings for them simply to be brushed aside. This series compels the audience to confront them for real.
THE STORIES
To find these stories we travelled the length and breadth of the British Isles. All the stories are completely original. None of them has been covered on television before. They are quite remarkable... incredible but real.
Ghostly children in an Irish Castle; Roman Legionnaires in York; The old Civil War battlefield of Marsden Moor; The modern battlefield of the Somme, in Northern France; A biker who died on a lonely country lane; A ghostly airplane pilot. These and more... many more. We relive the story. We use every available devices to test its validity.
These events have left an indelible mark on the people who experienced them. Nobody can watch this series without being touched and affected by the questions it raises. It is, if you like, the X Files in real life.
THE PROGRAMMES INCLUDE:
The Phantom Fisherman

In a sleepy fishing village in the west of England, an eighteenth century fisherman returns to trouble the lives of a modern family. We follow an extraordinary trail of clues that eventually leads to the identification of the troubled spirit and witness it being laid to rest.
The Gorton Poltergeist
A young family living in a modern council housing estate in the north of England had their lives disrupted by an extraordinary, frightening paranormal visitor. Attempts are made by more than one exorcist to cast out the spirit but the result is not a permanent solution and the whole community gathers to fight off the evil hauntings.
Bodmin Moor
Bodmin Moor is in the far west of England. It is a place of mystery with associations that go back in history to King Arthur and beyond. We learn of the extraordinary experiences of some people who live in the area. Some in fact, who believe they have encountered King Arthur.
Castle Leslie
The beautiful and romantic Castle Leslie set on a lakeside in Southern Ireland has been the ancestral home of the Leslie family for many generations. The castle’s long and sometimes bizarre history has resulted in some remarkable incidents of paranormal activity. The current incumbents live side-by-side with the older generation of long dead relatives with little concern for their safety.
Spectres of the Severn
The River Severn is one of Britain’s greatest rivers, running through some of the most beautiful countryside in the west of England. A psychic researcher travels the area to explore local paranormal mysteries. The high concentration of local haunted dwellings has a fascinating explanation that challenges the common theory and understanding of the strange activity.
In the Shadows of Snowdonia
Snowdonia is the highest mountain in Wales set in the midst of a remote and wild countryside steeped in history. A team of three ghosthunters are at work with members of the local communities. They find to their amazement that there are some very strange ghosts that can be recognised from the not too distant past.
