CHARTWELL
1 x 60'
A very special programme exploring the house and gardens of Chartwell in Kent, the former home of Sir Winston Churchill for more than forty years. Churchill adored Chartwell, a Victorian house with stunning views over the Weald of Kent which he bought in 1922, and which was his cherished home for 40 years.
The programme is presented by Churchill's daughter, Lady Soames, who returns to the rooms in which so many momentous decisions of her father's life were made, the study, where Churchill wrote his influential books and speeches; the dining room, where he entertained some of the most famous politicians, artists and celebrities of the century. She also visits the studio and the gardens, where he escaped to reflect on the great issues of the day.
Also featured are scenes from Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, where he was born.

Producer: Tadpole Lane.
Availability: Worldwide ex. UK (Meridian & Channel regions), all media (ex. UK, Australia, New Zealand - video)
