INXS DOCUMENTARY
1 x 60' Hi-Fi Stereo
This film is a revealing portrait of the rock band, INXS which will pay tribute to the remarkable commitment, spirit and verve which enabled them to become the biggest selling Australian rock act of all time. This documentary takes the story back to their roots in Sydney where six very normal suburban teenagers made a pact to achieve fame and fortune through their love of rock n' roll.
With the feel and vibe of a visual scrapbook, this documentary looks at their formative years on the Australian music scene when they played anything from wild "beer barns" to Christian fellowship outings and when the took to the stage in everything form space suits to Stetsons.
With massive album sales worldwide and a huge international following, INXS were one of the biggest bands in the world. But their story came to a crashing halt in 1997 with the death of singer Michael Hutchence - an event still shrouded in mystery.
We interview friends and musicians who knew them intimately and reveal the bonds that kept the band together as well as discover the problems that eventually tore them apart. We will feature locations such as the band's recording studios, venues, high schools ad other significant sights. We also talk to journalists, producers and promoters who knew the band well to discuss their rise as an international act and their development into one of the most successful bands of the 80's.
This success and their taste for the high life would ultimately be their downfall. Poised to join the gallery of rock legends and at the pinnacle of their career, they began to lose focus. We see how the band tired of the rigours of the road, lost touch with their audience and began foundering in the mire of indecision and misdirected effort. A band whose charming and charismatic lead singer was pushed over the edge by increasing personal problems, scrutinised under the microscope of the international media.
A classic tale from rags to riches. The story of wonderful music and inspired performances. Ultimately a journey of sex, drugs and rock n' roll.
